Richard Braintree

Richard Braintree is a supporting character in *Silent Hill 4: The Room*. He is Henry Townshend's neighbor from Room 207 at South Ashfield Heights apartment complex. He is an eccentric, angry, and somewhat violent or possibly sadistic man who carries a revolver with him. Richard is very observant of the events occurring in the apartment complex. After Joseph Schreiber’s sudden disappearance, he becomes concerned when he notices similar things happening in Room 302. Despite his temper, Richard seems to be on good terms with Eileen Galvin, often seen having friendly conversations with her. In the game’s storyline, Richard has a conflict with a young Walter Sullivan, believing Walter didn't belong there. In the Otherworld, Richard is subjected to Walter's revenge and ultimately dies in an electric chair. After his death, his ghost haunts the building world, attacking Henry. Richard is also notorious for stripping a stalker named Mike of his clothes, an incident that caused much talk among the apartment residents.
