Richard Grady

Richard Grady is a character in Silent Hill: Origins, and he is the father of the protagonist, Travis Grady. In the game, Richard is deceased, and his presence is primarily manifested through Travis's memories and the scenes discovered while exploring the Riverside Motel. Richard raised his son, Travis, alone after his wife, Helen, was committed to a sanitarium due to mental health issues. Unable to cope with his wife's deteriorating condition and driven to despair, he chose to commit suicide by hanging himself in room 500 of the motel. This tragic event inflicted a significant psychological trauma on Travis's childhood and became one of the core driving forces of the story in Silent Hill: Origins. In the game, the image of Richard often appears as a ghost or the monster "Sad Daddy," reflecting Travis's deepest fears and guilt.
