Lillian Shepherd

Lillian Shepherd is a character in Silent Hill: Homecoming, and she is the mother of the protagonist, Alex Shepherd. Lillian married into the Shepherd family, one of the four families that founded Shepherd's Glen. According to Alex's diary, it's heavily implied that Lillian had difficulties conceiving. After Alex was born, her parents tried for years to have another child. To uphold a pact with the Order, Lillian agreed to sacrifice one of her children to prevent Shepherd's Glen from being cursed. She chose her firstborn son, Alex. Afterwards, Lillian showed a clear preference for her second son, Joshua, which caused her relationship with Alex to grow cold. When Alex returns home, he finds Lillian in a near catatonic state. Later, she is kidnapped by the Order and taken to Silent Hill, where she is bound to a crucifix-like device that slowly stretches her body, leading to her death. Lillian was a talented woman skilled in sewing, cooking, and passionate about art and poetry. However, she was unable to express affection towards Alex due to the fate of sacrificing him. In the end, when Alex finds her being tortured, Lillian begs him to end her suffering.
