Joey Bartlett

Joey Bartlett is a character in the Silent Hill series. He is the son of Sam Bartlett, the mayor of Shepherd's Glen, and a descendant of the Bartlett family, one of the town's four founding families. As decreed by a pact made with the Order's god to protect Shepherd's Glen from the curse of Silent Hill, Joey was sacrificed and buried alive (known as vivisepulture) to appease the god. His father, Sam Bartlett, was deeply guilt-ridden over his son's death, and this guilt manifested as a monster called "Sepulcher" in Silent Hill's Otherworld. Joey had a love for plants and was an avid gardener. He was also best friends with Joshua Shepherd, and they often played in his treehouse. Joey's father provided him with a "perfect" childhood, showering him with expensive gifts and anything he asked for. His sacrifice became an indelible trauma for his father.
