Bartlett Family

The Bartlett family is one of the founding families of Shepherd's Glen in Silent Hill: Homecoming. The family's ancestor, Mason Bartlett, was one of the town's founders. Sam Bartlett, a descendant of the family, serves as the mayor of Shepherd's Glen during the events of Silent Hill: Homecoming. It's said that Sam ran unopposed for mayor, likely due to it being his birthright and responsibility as a descendant of the Bartlett family. Sam was once a respected figure in the community and was the father of Joey Bartlett, a friend of Alex Shepherd's brother, Joshua. Sam loved his son dearly and gave him everything he wanted to ensure his happiness. However, it is revealed during the game that Sam buried his son alive as part of a pact. This pact required the founding families of Shepherd's Glen to offer their children to the earth to protect the town from the corrupting influence of neighboring Silent Hill. After burying his son, Sam developed a habit of drinking and digging graves to cope with his guilt.
