The Fitch family is one of the four founding families of Shepherd's Glen in Silent Hill: Homecoming. According to a pact with the Order, the Fitch family's duty was to serve as the "Performer of Rites," requiring them to sacrifice their children through dismemberment to maintain their contract with the Order's god. The Fitch family symbol is a serpent wrapped around a knife, reflecting their method of sacrifice and the profession of family doctor Martin Fitch. Martin Fitch is a key character in the game, having murdered his daughter, Scarlet, to fulfill the pact, which led to his mental breakdown and severe psychological trauma. Scarlet’s sacrifice is also central to the plot, and her tragic fate and Martin's struggles form a significant part of the game. The Fitch family represents families bound by religious obligations and forced to endure tragic destinies in the Silent Hill series.
