Patrick Napier

Patrick Napier is the overarching antagonist in Silent Hill: Downpour. He was an inmate at Ryall State Prison, convicted of several child sexual abuse charges. He is also Murphy Pendleton's former neighbor and responsible for the death of Murphy's son, Charlie Pendleton, leading to Murphy's uncontrollable desire for revenge. Napier approached Charlie while he was walking home from school, kidnapped him, and, presumably with the intent to sexually assault him, placed Charlie in a sack and threw him into a nearby lake, resulting in Charlie's death. Later, Napier was arrested for the abduction, sexual assault, and murder of an eight-year-old boy named Daniel Stephens. Given his prior conviction, the jury returned a guilty verdict in just four hours. Napier was sentenced to a mandatory life-without-parole and immediately remanded to Ryall State Prison, where he was placed in solitary confinement. At the beginning of the game, Murphy brutally beats and stabs Napier in a prison shower room. Depending on the player's choices, Napier may die in the end, or be killed by other characters.
