Frank Coleridge is a significant character in the *Silent Hill* series, notably in *Silent Hill: Downpour* and the comic *Anne's Story*. He was a corrections officer at Ryall State Prison, where he met Murphy Pendleton during his incarceration. Frank appears in Murphy's flashbacks, attempting to endorse Murphy's release by presenting his case to the parole board. He believed Murphy was different from other prisoners due to his demeanor and clean record, and his constant pleas to the parole board led Murphy to believe that Frank was one of the only people who "never gave up on him." Frank was known for his upstanding morals and benevolence, treating family, friends, and even inmates with respect. He always looked for the positive side of people. However, he had a conflict with the corrupt George Sewell. In the game, Frank's image often acts as Murphy's conscience, appearing in mirrors to offer advice. He also haunts Murphy as the Wheelman, a monster symbolizing Murphy's guilt and the role his deal with Sewell played in Frank’s eventual demise. Frank's death varies in different endings of the game, but he remains a character of deep impact on Murphy's story.
