M. Koons is a character who appears in Silent Hill: Downpour, serving as the bus driver for Ryall State Prison. He makes his only appearance at the beginning of the game while driving the prisoner transport bus. During the ride, Sanchez starts to ask Murphy Pendleton a question, and Anne Marie Cunningham tells them to stop talking. Koons turns around briefly to look at the commotion, and then turns back to discover the road ends at a cliff. Panicked, he swerves the bus, causing it to roll over and fall off the cliff into Silent Hill. He then disappears from the bus. In "Anne's Story", it's revealed that Koons dies early in the story. While it's not explicitly explained how he was killed, Anne finds him after the bus falls off a cliff. Anne blames him for the bus crash, stating that he had only one job, to which Koons replies that he was only trying to help. Anne then notices that Koons has turned into a monster, realizing it could just be in her imagination. His last name is sometimes spelled Koonts.
