Air Screamer

The Air Screamer, also known as Avian Monster (Type A), is a flying enemy commonly found in the Silent Hill series. First appearing in Silent Hill, it is the second enemy Harry Mason encounters, bursting through the window of Cafe 5to2. Its appearance is similar to a pteranodon but with the series' characteristic pale, leathery skin, vaguely humanoid torso, and fish-like glassy eyes. In Silent Hill: Book of Memories, its head has sideways jaws instead of a pteranodon shape. Air Screamers pose a threat due to their high mobility, attacking by biting and slashing with talons, often accompanied by high-pitched screeches. Symbolically, they are traced to a pteranodon illustration in Alessa Gillespie's favorite book, The Lost World, and are associated with demonic figures from hell, representing the hellish nature of Silent Hill.
