Larval Stalkers are ghost-like enemies that appear in the Silent Hill series, first appearing in the original Silent Hill game. They are depicted as dark, translucent child ghosts, roughly the height of a toddler. Despite their unsettling appearance, Larval Stalkers are harmless to the player. They emit high-pitched squeaking noises and disappear when approached. In Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, the Larval Stalkers have a different appearance, being much taller, and seem to represent the memories of the protagonist's daughter. These creatures serve as a form of hint or guidance within the game, rather than a direct threat. Their presence is usually accompanied by radio static, and their behavior and appearance allude to deeper psychological themes and character relationships within the game. In the original Silent Hill, the Larval Stalkers symbolize the memories of Alessa Gillespie being bullied, while in Shattered Memories they represent Harry's daughter, Cheryl.
