Hanged Scratcher

The Hanged Scratcher, also known as Sewer Demons or Sewer Creatures, is a monster that appears in the Silent Hill series. They primarily dwell in the sewers of Silent Hill and first appear in the original Silent Hill game. These creatures resemble green reptilian beings with white heads. Their claws make a distinct clicking sound when they walk on hard surfaces. They possess extremely long and thin limbs, similar to an insect. Hanged Scratchers are known to attack from the ceiling or from below, often hunting in groups of two or three, surrounding their prey and making evasion difficult. They are swift, especially on higher difficulties, and have a long attack range and endurance. The game recommends using a hammer or firearms against them. In the story, they may symbolize Alessa Gillespie's fear of insects or be related to the Order's practice of abducting young girls. They could also represent dragons, alluding to Alessa's love for fairy tales.
