Beast

Beast, whose real name is Henry "Hank" McCoy, is a fictional superhero appearing in Marvel Comics. He is a founding member of the X-Men, known for his ape-like superhuman strength, agility, and genius-level intellect. McCoy's mutation initially manifested as unusually large hands and feet, but over time he transformed into a blue-furred, beastly creature while retaining his brilliant mind and vast knowledge. Beast has been a member of not only the X-Men but also the Avengers and the Defenders. A world authority on biochemistry and genetics, he is known for his witty sense of humor, his erudite manner, and his frequent use of literary and philosophical quotes. Despite his feral appearance, Beast is a hero dedicated to creating a better world for man and mutant. However, in recent storylines, he has taken a darker turn, becoming increasingly controversial for his ruthless actions in service of the mutant nation of Krakoa, ultimately leading to his death and replacement by a younger, more pure clone.
