Barney Barton

Barney Barton is a character appearing in Marvel Comics, created by Roy Thomas and Gene Colan. He first appeared in *The Avengers* #64 (May 1969). Barney is the older brother and a recurring antagonist of the superhero Hawkeye (Clint Barton). In his youth, Barney worked in a circus with Clint, but later became estranged from his brother due to jealousy and misunderstandings. He joined the army, became an FBI agent, and eventually a criminal, facing off against the Avengers multiple times. Barney died sacrificing himself, but his body was recovered and manipulated by villains, leading to multiple resurrections and conflicts with Hawkeye. He joined the Dark Avengers as Trickshot, and after a brief reconciliation with Clint, they fell out again after Barney stole Clint's wealth. Barney is a complex character whose relationship with Hawkeye is central to his story. He is skilled in archery and hand-to-hand combat.
