Mallen is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics. In the comics, Mallen is a bitter domestic terrorist whose parents were killed in a shootout with the FBI, leading him to deeply distrust the government. He joined a terrorist cell and was given the Extremis virus by Maya Hansen and Aldrich Killian. This virus granted him superhuman strength and speed, as well as the ability to generate fire and electrical bursts. He attacked the Houston FBI branch and clashed with Iron Man. Despite being severely injured in his battle with Iron Man, he threatened to attack US leaders in Washington DC. In the animated series "Iron Man: Armored Adventures," Mallen is portrayed as a disgruntled former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, dismissed for mental instability, who steals and injects himself with the Extremis formula, becoming a supervillain. In "Iron Man 3," Aldrich Killian's character incorporates some of Mallen’s abilities, including super strength, speed, and regeneration. Mallen demonstrates immense destructive power and poses a significant threat, appearing as one of Iron Man's major adversaries in both comics and adaptations.
