In Marvel Comics, Ms. Marvel and Captain Marvel are two significant superhero titles with a history of different characters using them, most notably Carol Danvers and Kamala Khan. Carol initially appeared as Ms. Marvel before taking on the mantle of Captain Marvel. Her powers stem from Kree genetics, including flight, super strength, energy absorption and projection. Kamala Khan is a young Pakistani-American teenager, a huge fan of Captain Marvel, who gained Inhuman shapeshifting abilities in an accident. She debuted as Ms. Marvel, in homage to her idol Carol. While they share the “Ms. Marvel” title, they possess distinct powers and storylines, with different roles and responsibilities in the Marvel Universe. Their relationship is both that of idol and fan, and that of comrades and friends.
