Quicksilver is the twin brother of the Scarlet Witch. He is known for his superhuman speed and is typically depicted as a mutant, born with innate superpowers. Quicksilver initially appeared as an adversary to the X-Men, later becoming a superhero and joining the Avengers. He has starred in several comic series, including his own self-titled *Quicksilver*. Quicksilver's character is marked by impulsiveness, impatience, and arrogance, but also a strong loyalty to his sister, the Scarlet Witch. His backstory has varied over time, with him being presented sometimes as the son of Magneto and at other times as a product of the High Evolutionary's experiments. Quicksilver has also appeared in several Marvel films, TV shows, and games, portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Evan Peters respectively. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he was initially a villain in *Avengers: Age of Ultron*, later sacrificing himself to become a hero, while in the *X-Men* series he is an ally of the X-Men.
