Union Jack is the name of several fictional superheroes appearing in Marvel Comics. The first was James Montgomery Falsworth, who was active during World War I as a British operative. The second was Brian Falsworth, James' son, who took on the mantle during World War II. The third, and most contemporary, is Joseph "Joey" Chapman, a working-class art student who became Union Jack after encountering the Falsworth family. Union Jack is typically portrayed as a patriotic British hero, known for his physical strength and fighting skills. They often combat threats to the UK, including vampires, Nazis, and other supervillains. Joseph Chapman's version is the most prominent in recent comics, frequently partnering with organizations like the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. The character's costume usually incorporates the design of the British flag, making him a recognizable symbol of British heroism.
