Venom is a complex character in Marvel Comics, typically appearing as a symbiote that bonds with a human host. The most well-known host of Venom is journalist Eddie Brock, but it has also bonded with other characters such as Spider-Man. Venom's origins can be traced back to an extraterrestrial symbiote that was first discovered during the Secret Wars and briefly bonded with Spider-Man, who later separated from it due to its controlling and aggressive nature. After bonding with Eddie Brock, their shared hatred for Spider-Man fueled their partnership, forming a classic anti-hero. Venom possesses great strength, speed, and stamina, capable of generating tentacles, changing form, and mimicking other abilities. Though initially portrayed as a villain, Venom has shown heroic aspects in many stories, becoming a morally ambiguous character. Venom has been adapted and featured widely in films, TV shows, animation, and video games, and is one of the most popular and recognizable characters in the Marvel Universe. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Venom has also gained prominence through the movies "Venom" and "Venom: Let There Be Carnage." Venom's storyline often intersects with other Marvel characters, creating rich plot lines.
