Vision is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics, first introduced in The Avengers #57 (1968). He is a synthezoid, sometimes called a "synthezoid", created by the villainous robot Ultron. Originally intended to act as Ultron's "son" and destroy the Avengers, Vision instead turned against his creator and joined the Avengers. Vision possesses the power to control his own density, becoming as hard as diamond or as ethereal as a ghost. He also has the ability to absorb and redirect solar energy. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Vision is portrayed by Paul Bettany, debuting in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). Initially created to be Ultron's perfect form, the body was stolen by the Avengers and imbued with the consciousness of J.A.R.V.I.S., Tony Stark's AI. Vision develops a romantic relationship with Scarlet Witch and has sacrificed himself multiple times to protect Earth. He was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, but reappears in different forms in WandaVision. Vision is a complex and compelling character in the Marvel universe, with a story that blends science fiction, heroism, romance, and tragedy. He is not only a powerful ally of the Avengers but also an entity constantly exploring his identity and humanity.
