Dormammu

Dormammu is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics, first appearing in Strange Tales #126 (November 1964). He is a powerful extradimensional entity who rules the Dark Dimension and is one of Doctor Strange's main antagonists. Dormammu is a member of the energy being race known as the Faltine, who was exiled from their home for their desire for material power and eventually came to rule the Dark Dimension. He possesses immense magical abilities, including energy projection, teleportation, time travel, and telepathy. Dormammu's ambition is to conquer all dimensions, merging them into the Dark Dimension, and often clashes with Doctor Strange. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Dormammu first appeared in the 2016 film Doctor Strange, with Benedict Cumberbatch providing motion capture and voice. He is portrayed as a huge entity made of dark energy who attempts to merge Earth with his Dark Dimension and is ultimately trapped in a time loop by Doctor Strange, forcing him to leave Earth. Dormammu is often depicted as a demon with a flaming head, but in the film, he appears more as an abstract form of dark energy. His power and ambition make him one of Doctor Strange's most formidable foes.
