Mephisto

Mephisto is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He first appeared in Silver Surfer #3 (December 1968), created by Stan Lee and John Buscema and based on Mephistopheles from the Faust legend. Mephisto is an extra-dimensional demon who rules a fiery pocket dimension he calls "Hell," although it is not the Hell of Christian religion nor the Hades of Greek myth. He is a master manipulator who delights in corrupting souls, often clashing with heroes of the Marvel Universe like Silver Surfer, Ghost Rider, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange. Mephisto possesses vast magical powers including shapeshifting, reality manipulation, and immortality. He often tempts mortals with deals for power, desire, or salvation, only to trap them in his hellish realm. In the comics, Mephisto has tried to conquer the world and control powerful heroes on many occasions but is usually defeated. He is also a central figure in the Spider-Man "One More Day" storyline where he alters reality, resulting in the erasure of Spider-Man and Mary Jane's marriage.
