In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Jake Gyllenhaal portrayed Quentin Beck as Mysterio, a disgruntled ex-Stark Industries employee who uses holographic technology to create illusions of the 'Elementals,' seeking to replace Iron Man as the next superhero, but is ultimately exposed and defeated by Spider-Man.
