Silver Samurai

Silver Samurai is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics, primarily as a villain, often crossing paths with X-Men characters such as Wolverine. Originally named Kenuichio Harada, he is the illegitimate son of Japanese crime lord Shingen Harada. He is a mutant with the ability to generate and manipulate a tachyon field, typically focusing it through his katana to cut through almost any substance. He wears silver samurai armor and is a master of swordsmanship and martial arts. Silver Samurai began as a mercenary and criminal, serving Hydra and battling heroes like Spider-Man and Daredevil. He later became the leader of the Japanese superhero team Big Hero 6, briefly turning hero. However, his heroic period was short-lived, and he was brainwashed, returning to a life of crime. In the comics, his relationship with Wolverine is complex, oscillating between foe and ally. He has both aided and fought Wolverine. Silver Samurai's son, Shin Harada, took up the mantle of Silver Samurai as the second generation, not a mutant, instead using technology armor to gain his powers. Silver Samurai has also appeared in X-Men-related animations, video games, and films, most notably in 'The Wolverine' where Haruhiko Yamanouchi portrays the character Ichiro Yashida, not the comic book character Kenuichio Harada.
