Whiplash

Whiplash is the name of multiple supervillains in Marvel Comics, commonly depicted as enemies of Iron Man. The most well-known Whiplash is Mark Scarlotti, originally an electrical technician at Stark International who later became a professional criminal. He uses a self-designed metal whip as his weapon and works for the criminal organization Maggia. He has also gone by the alias Blacklash. Another notable Whiplash is Ivan Vanko, portrayed by Mickey Rourke in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ivan Vanko is a Russian physicist who seeks revenge on Iron Man using a self-made arc reactor and energy whips. Besides Mark and Ivan, there are other iterations of Whiplash, including Leeann Foreman, a professional criminal with unrevealed mutant abilities, and a personality construct created by the villain Badgal that tends to possess females. These Whiplashes have fought different heroes like Iron Man, Spider-Man, and the X-Men. Whiplash is known for its signature whip weapons and its antagonistic relationship with Iron Man.
