Nova Corps

The Nova Corps is a fictional intergalactic military and police force appearing in Marvel Comics. It was originally the space militia and exploration division of Xandar, consisting of over 500 soldiers ranging in rank from Corpsman to Centurion, led by Centurion Nova Prime. The Nova Corps' power source is called the Nova Force, a near-limitless energy field generated by a living supercomputer called the Xandarian Worldmind. This energy is then transmitted to centurions at varying levels depending on rank. The Corps is responsible for maintaining peace throughout the galaxy and has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times. Richard Rider, an Earthling, is a notable member of the Nova Corps who has served as Nova Prime and led the Corps. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the Nova Corps also appear as a galactic peacekeeping force, first appearing in 'Guardians of the Galaxy'. They are led by Nova Prime and fought alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy in the Battle of Xandar against Ronan.
