Yoshi

Yoshi, also known as ヨッシー, is an iconic dinosaur character in the Super Mario series, and the protagonist of his own series. Yoshi is usually depicted as green, but comes in many other colors, including red, pink, yellow, light blue, orange, blue, purple, white, black, and brown. Yoshi debuted in Super Mario World and has since become a loyal companion to Mario, serving as a rideable character with a distinctive tongue attack and egg-laying ability. He also stars in his own games, such as the Yoshi's Island series, as well as in various Mario spin-offs, including Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. Yoshi is beloved for his cute appearance, cheerful and friendly personality, and unique movement style, making him an important icon of video game culture. Yoshi's design was inspired by Shigeru Miyamoto's desire to have Mario ride an animal, and he was created by designer Shigefumi Hino when technology allowed. Yoshi's appearance has evolved over time, from an initial lizard-like form to a more endearing and anthropomorphic one. Yoshi's popularity has led to appearances in various TV shows and films, further establishing his position as a key character in video games.
