Cappy

Cappy, known as キャッピー in Japanese, is a major character in Super Mario Odyssey and Mario's main companion. He first appeared as a cameo in Super Mario Run. Cappy is a Bonneter from the Cap Kingdom, who joins Mario on his adventure to rescue his sister, Tiara, who has been kidnapped by Bowser. Cappy's default form is a large white top hat with magenta eyes, but he is actually a small, spectral being. He can transform into different hats, including Mario's iconic cap. In the game, Cappy can be thrown to attack enemies and also serve as a platform for Mario to jump higher. Most importantly, Cappy has the ability to 'capture' various enemies or objects, allowing Mario to control them and use their abilities to solve puzzles and traverse levels. Cappy is also a talkative character, providing Mario with advice and information to help players understand the game world.
