Goomba, known as Kuribō (クリボー) in Japan, is one of the most common enemies in Nintendo's Super Mario franchise. They first appeared in Super Mario Bros. in 1985 as brown, mushroom-like creatures with thick black eyebrows and two small teeth, usually lacking arms and only having two feet. As a basic enemy, Goombas are often seen aimlessly wandering, serving as obstacles for players. They are typically defeated by jumping on them. Goombas have a simple, recognizable design, making them one of the most iconic characters in the series. Despite being weak enemies in the game, Goombas appear in nearly every Super Mario title, and also in other media like film and television, becoming a classic symbol of the franchise.
