Prince Florian

Prince Florian is a significant character in the 2023 platform game Super Mario Bros. Wonder. He is the benevolent prince of the Flower Kingdom, inhabited by Poplins and talking flowers. Prince Florian appears as a small green caterpillar with black eyes, a round orange nose, white gloves, and brown shoes/feet. He wears a red cape around his neck and a golden crown over a single leaf on his head. In the game, he assists Mario and his friends by equipping badges on his crown to grant them additional abilities. He is also Mario's main ally in the game. Prince Florian appears on the shoulder of the player's selected character when they are idle, and in local co-op, he rides on the shoulder of the player with the crown. Prince Florian's name comes from the Latin word "florens," meaning "blossoming," and the German name "Florian" also derives from this root. In the game, Prince Florian invites Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy and other characters to his kingdom. However, after Bowser steals a Wonder Flower, Prince Florian teams up with Mario and his allies to fight Bowser and save his kingdom and people.
