My Life as a Teenage Robot

My Life as a Teenage Robot is an American animated science fiction superhero comedy television series created by Rob Renzetti for Nickelodeon. Produced by Frederator Studios and Nickelodeon Animation Studio, the series is set in the fictional town of Tremorton and follows the adventures of a robot super-heroine named XJ-9, also known as Jenny Wakeman. Jenny attempts to balance her duties of protecting Earth with her desire to live a normal teenage life. Created by robotics scientist Dr. Nora Wakeman, Jenny is designed to be Earth's protector. However, Jenny longs for the life of a typical teenager, making friends with her neighbors Brad and Tuck Carbunkle, and Sheldon Lee, a nerd with a crush on her. Jenny also clashes with the school's popular girls, Brit and Tiff Crust, and battles Queen Vexus of the robot Cluster Empire, who wants her to join their ranks. The show is known for its unique 'future deco' visual style, blending animation styles of the 1920s and 1930s with other inspirations. Despite critical acclaim, My Life as a Teenage Robot was not a ratings success in the United States but gained a larger following in other countries. The series ran for three seasons, airing from 2003 to 2009.
