SKS, also known as Simonov, is a Tactical Doll in Girls' Frontline, based on the Soviet SKS semi-automatic carbine. In the game, SKS can be obtained through regular T-Doll production or as a drop from battle stages after Chapter 2-6. She has no exclusive equipment or union skill. SKS was designed by Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov, and SKS-45 is an abbreviation of 'Self-loading Carbine of (the) Simonov system, 1945'. The SKS was adopted by the Soviet Union after World War II as a replacement for the Mosin-Nagant rifle. While simple to manufacture, reliable, and inexpensive, its lack of select-fire capability and limited 10-round capacity led to its obsolescence with the introduction of the AK-47. Nevertheless, SKS continued to serve in Soviet Border Troops, Internal Troops, and second-line units for decades. The SKS uses a gas-operated system, with a spring-loaded bolt carrier and gas piston that unlock and cycle the action. It features a wooden stock and grip, and a retractable bayonet. The SKS was manufactured at the Tula Arsenal from 1945 to 1958 and at the Izhevsk Arsenal from 1953 to 1954, with a total Soviet production of about 2.7 million carbines. During the Cold War, the SKS was shared with Soviet allies, leading to numerous derivatives and variants, becoming the ninth most produced self-loading rifle design in history.
