Sai

Sai Yamanaka (山中サイ, Yamanaka Sai) is a shinobi of Konohagakure's Yamanaka clan, the husband of Ino Yamanaka and father of Inojin Yamanaka. He currently serves as the ANBU Chief. Alongside Sakura Uchiha and Naruto Uzumaki, he is a former member of Team 7, replacing Sasuke Uchiha. Sai was orphaned as a child and recruited into Root, a secret branch of the Anbu under the leadership of Danzō Shimura. There, he was raised and conditioned to have no personality, personal connections, or a name; "Sai" was given to him for joining Team Kakashi. Despite this, Sai retained an interest in art. Initially, he showed a complete lack of emotion, often masking it with a false, cheerful, yet transparent façade. Later, through his time with Team 7, he began to understand and cherish bonds, and started to display genuine smiles. He was able to deeply understand Naruto's feelings and assist him in any way he could. After the Fourth Shinobi World War, he further understood camaraderie, married Ino, and started a family. He has completely rejected Root's teachings, accepting that Danzō's intentions, while to protect the village, were misguided and led to more suffering. He excels in ninjutsu and possesses excellent observational skills.
