Mito Uzumaki (うずまきミト, Uzumaki Mito) was a kunoichi originating from the Uzumaki clan of Uzushiogakure. She later migrated to Konohagakure, married Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage, and became the first jinchūriki of the Nine-Tailed Fox, Kurama, after the battle at the Valley of the End. The Uzumaki and Senju clans, being distant relatives, always maintained close ties. Mito sealed Kurama within herself to empower her husband. Despite the seal’s strength, it almost broke during her childbirth. In her later years, Mito chose Kushina Uzumaki as the new jinchūriki, advising her to counter Kurama’s hatred with love. Mito was known for her calm, composed, and dignified demeanor. She had a strong sense of duty to her husband and the village. She was a powerful kunoichi, exceptional in fūinjutsu and possessing vast chakra reserves. As an Uzumaki, she also possessed a long lifespan, having lived from the era of the First Hokage through the Third. Mito realized love was key to overcoming Kurama’s negativity and passed this idea to Kushina, which later aided Naruto in controlling the Nine-Tails.
