Ebizō (エビゾウ), also known as Honoured Grandfather Ebizō (エビゾウジイ様, Ebizō-jiisama) by the villagers of Sunagakure, is a highly respected elder in the village. He and his older sister, Chiyo, are known as the Honoured Siblings (御姉弟, Gokyōdai). Ebizō is a very calm, reserved, and apathetic individual, particularly when contrasted with his impulsive sister. He possesses a sharp analytical mind. When Sunagakure faces crises, he maintains his composure and prevents the villagers from acting rashly. Ebizō believes that the village should be self-reliant and not over-dependent on the previous generation or other villages, expressing disappointment when they seemed helpless in saving Kankurō. Despite his stoic demeanor, he cares for those close to him, grieving deeply at his sister's passing. Even in his old age, his intellect and analytical skills have been invaluable to the village during past wars and current situations. Ebizō is characterized by his heavy-lidded eyes, which give the appearance of having no eyes, and his long eyebrows. He typically wears a turban and the traditional Sunagakure attire. In the Naruto story, Ebizō is a vital figure in Sunagakure, whose wisdom and stability provide crucial support.
