Hogback

Hogback is a character in One Piece, formerly a world-renowned genius surgeon known for saving countless lives with his exceptional medical skills. However, his pursuit of medicine became twisted, leading him to use his talents for cruel experiments. He developed a morbid fascination with the dead, believing he could grant them new life through his techniques. Joining Gecko Moria's pirate crew, he became their scientist, using Moria's Shadow-Shadow Fruit powers to create zombies. He not only steals corpses but also uses them for body modification and resurrection, like transforming his former lover, Cindry, into a zombie, forcing her to obey his commands. Hogback is an arrogant, cold, and amoral individual who sees life as a tool to be manipulated at will, sharply contrasting the protagonists' humanist values. Despite his high medical skills, his contempt for life makes him one of the most despicable antagonists in One Piece.
