Known among his people as the 'Great Warrior of Shandora' and feared by outsiders as the 'Demon of Shandora', Calgara was renowned for his bravery and strength. He had a distinctive long red hair and red tattoos similar to those of his descendant, Wyper. Initially hostile to strangers, Calgara underwent a significant transformation after befriending the explorer Mont Blanc Noland, becoming close companions. Calgara was deeply committed to his people's traditions and vowed to defend his homeland. He was once forced to accept the sacrifice of his daughter to save his tribe, but she was ultimately rescued by Noland. Calgara's friendship with Noland was profound, and he promised to continuously ring the Golden Bell of Shandora, awaiting Noland's return. However, part of Jaya was propelled into the sky, and Calgara died in battle against the Sky Islanders, unable to reunite with Noland. His will and his promise to Noland profoundly influenced his descendants.
