Squard

Squard, also known as "Maelstrom Spider" Squard, is an infamous New World pirate in *One Piece* and the captain of the Maelstrom Spider Pirates. He was once an ally of the Whitebeard Pirates and participated in the Summit War of Marineford. Squard is a tall, pale, and slim man with a bald top and long, wavy light-pink hair. He is often seen sticking his tongue out and has sharp teeth. He wears a spider design on his forehead with a spiral at the bottom and a diagonal headband. Squard holds onto grudges from his past. He developed hatred toward Gol D. Roger for killing his crew, and that hatred extended to Roger's son, Ace. During the Summit War, he was deceived by Admiral Akainu, who made him believe Whitebeard was sacrificing his allies for Ace, leading him to betray Whitebeard and stab him. He later realized his mistake, became remorseful, and tried to redeem himself in battle. Squard is skilled in swordsmanship, wielding both a normal-sized katana and an oversized one.
