Otohime

Otohime is a character in the Japanese manga series *One Piece*. She is the queen of the Ryugu Kingdom on Fish-Man Island, the wife of King Neptune, and the mother of Fukaboshi, Ryuboshi, Manboshi, and Shirahoshi. Otohime was a goldfish mermaid who worked towards peace and coexistence between fish-men, merfolk, and humans, dreaming of her people's emigration from the sea floor to the surface. She was a political activist who worked tirelessly for this union. Eight years before the start of the series, she was assassinated by Hody Jones, who framed a human pirate for the deed. Otohime possessed Observation Haki, allowing her to sense the hearts of others and understand the desires and fears of Fish-Man Island's inhabitants. She was incredibly compassionate, devoted to the well-being of her people, and worked to dismantle racial barriers. Even after her death, her ideals have profoundly impacted the Ryugu Kingdom and her family, compelling them to strive for the peaceful coexistence she envisioned.
