Vergo

Vergo (ヴェルゴ) is a complex character in One Piece. He is both one of the top executives of the Donquixote Pirates and a Vice Admiral in the Marines, the head of the G-5 branch, known as "Demon Bamboo". Vergo first appears in the Punk Hazard arc and serves as a secondary antagonist in that arc. He is loyal to Donquixote Doflamingo and secretly infiltrated the Marines, acting as a double agent. He poses as a respected Marine officer while actually carrying out Doflamingo's schemes, including assisting Caesar Clown with drug experiments on children. Vergo possesses powerful Armament Haki, allowing him to harden his entire body, and is skilled at using bamboo in combat. His personality is complex, displaying the sternness and authority of a Marine officer, as well as the ruthlessness and cruelty of a pirate. He is a cunning and deceptive individual, though sometimes he exhibits absentmindedness. Ultimately, he is defeated and killed in battle by Trafalgar Law.
