Arlong

Arlong, also known as Arlong the Saw, is a major antagonist in the anime and manga series *One Piece*. He is the captain of the Arlong Pirates, a crew of fish-men, and a former member of the Sun Pirates. Arlong is a sawshark fish-man with a distinctive saw-like nose and a deep-seated hatred for humans, whom he views as inferior. He established his base at Arlong Park on Cocoyasi Village in the East Blue, where he forced the local population to pay exorbitant tributes. He is also responsible for the death of Nami’s adoptive mother, Bell-mère, and for exploiting her cartography skills to further his ambitions. Arlong's rule was marked by cruelty and a belief in fish-man superiority. Ultimately, Arlong was defeated by Monkey D. Luffy, but his actions and ideology had lasting impacts on the story, especially in the Fish-Man Island arc, where he is still revered by some fish-men. Arlong’s character explores the themes of racism, oppression, and revenge within the world of *One Piece*.
