Shanks, also known as "Red-Haired" Shanks, is a major character in the Japanese manga series One Piece. He is the captain of the Red Hair Pirates and one of the Four Emperors who rule over the New World. Shanks was a former member of the legendary Roger Pirates, where he sailed alongside Buggy.
