The Callisto Protocol

The Callisto Protocol is a 2022 survival horror game developed by Striking Distance Studios and published by Krafton. Set in 2320, players assume the role of Jacob Lee, a cargo ship pilot who is imprisoned in the maximum-security Black Iron Prison on Jupiter's moon Callisto after a crash landing. When a mysterious illness sweeps through the prison, transforming inmates into monstrous creatures, Jacob must fight to survive. The game emphasizes a blend of melee and ranged combat, with players needing to gather resources, explore levels, and battle infected prisoners. Directed by Glen Schofield, the creator of the Dead Space series, it's considered a spiritual successor to that franchise. Players will gradually uncover the dark secrets behind Callisto and Black Iron Prison, experiencing a unique blend of horror, action, and immersive storytelling. Originally conceived as part of the PUBG universe, the game evolved into its own intellectual property, although some PUBG elements remain.
