"Saiyuko Bushoden Sangokushi" (The Legend of the Strongest Warlords: Romance of the Three Kingdoms) is a Chinese-Japanese animated television series adapted from the classic Chinese novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". The 52-episode series was a joint production between Beijing Glorious Animation and Japan's Future Planet, taking four years to produce at a cost of approximately 700 million yen. It premiered in China in 2009 and in Japan in 2010. The plot is faithful to the original novel, covering the entire story from the Peach Garden Oath to the unification of the Jin Dynasty. Although the pacing is fast, it has been praised by some viewers for its smooth animation and detailed visuals. The Japanese version features voice acting by talents from various agencies, with main roles primarily voiced by artists from the Horipro agency, a unique characteristic of the anime. The music of the anime is also well-received, with ending themes performed by TAKUI Nakajima and May'n. Though once considered a potential globally renowned anime, there are currently no widely available video streaming platforms offering it.
