Girls und Panzer

Girls und Panzer (Japanese: ガールズ&パンツァー, Gāruzu ando Pantsā), often abbreviated as Garupan (ガルパン), is an original Japanese anime series created by Actas. The story is set in a world where Sensha-dō (Tankery), the art of operating tanks, is considered a traditional martial art for girls. It follows high school girls as they participate in competitive tank battles using World War II-era tanks. The protagonist, Miho Nishizumi, transfers to Ōarai Girls' Academy from a prestigious Sensha-dō family and gets drawn into the school's efforts to revive its tankery team. The series is known for its detailed tank depictions, exciting battle sequences, and a blend of military, moe, and sports themes. In addition to the TV anime, there are also OVAs, films, manga, novels, and games, as well as a unique fan culture centered in the town of Ōarai, Ibaraki.
