Gundam Build Fighters

Gundam Build Fighters (Japanese: ガンダムビルドファイターズ), often abbreviated as GBF, is a Japanese science fiction anime television series produced by Sunrise, part of the long-running Gundam franchise. The series premiered in 2013 and is directed by Kenji Nagasaki, with scripts by Yōsuke Kuroda, and character designs by Kenichi Ohnuki and Suzuhito Yasuda. Unlike other Gundam series, Gundam Build Fighters focuses on the Gundam model (Gunpla) aspect of the franchise. The story is set in the near future, in a world where a Gunpla boom has reignited. People can use a virtual game called "Gunpla Battle" to control their assembled Gunpla in battles. The protagonist, Sei Iori, is a talented Gunpla builder, but his piloting skills are poor. He meets a mysterious boy named Reiji, who has exceptional piloting skills. The two form a team and participate in Gunpla Battle tournaments, aiming to win the World Championship. The series also has a sequel, Gundam Build Fighters Try, an OVA titled Gundam Build Fighters: GM's Counterattack, and various manga and novel adaptations.
