"Shimoneta: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist" (Japanese: 下ネタという概念が存在しない退屈な世界, abbreviated as Shimoseka) is a Japanese light novel series written by Hirotaka Akagi and illustrated by Eito Shimotsuki. Set in a future Japan where strict morality laws have banned all sexual language and behavior, the story follows Tanukichi Okuma, who is blackmailed into joining the anti-social organization SOX by Ayame Kajou, as they engage in obscene acts of terrorism to challenge the rigid moral code. This work satirizes Japan's censorship culture with exaggerated comedy, depicting characters' extreme measures to pursue freedom of speech. The 2015 anime adaptation is known for its unique humor and exploration of social issues.
