Rage of Bahamut: Virgin Soul (神撃のバハムート VIRGIN SOUL) is a Japanese TV anime series based on the Rage of Bahamut card game by Cygames and produced by MAPPA. This anime is a sequel to Rage of Bahamut: Genesis, taking place ten years after the events of the first anime. Humans in the capital city of Anatae enjoy lavish and prosperous lives, largely due to the rule of the newly appointed King Charioce XVII. However, he has stolen power from the gods and allows for the abuse and enslavement of demons in the capital. As humans immorally exploit demons, hostility against humans grows within the demon communities, threatening a revolt. Meanwhile, an atmosphere of unease spreads among the gods as they scramble to regain their lost power. Amidst this, Nina Drango, a cheerful young bounty hunter, arrives in the Royal Capital hoping to settle down and earn a living. Her peaceful life is quickly thrown into chaos when she crosses paths with the ominous Rag Demon, determined to seek revenge against humans, and Kaisar Lidfard, a noble knight battling an internal moral conflict. Rage of Bahamut: Virgin Soul continues the tale of the social and moral conflict between humans, gods, and demons, and their struggle for survival and dominance. The anime consists of 24 episodes and aired from April to September 2017.
