Erased

Erased, also known as Boku dake ga Inai Machi (僕だけがいない街), is a Japanese fantasy thriller manga series written and illustrated by Kei Sanbe. It was serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace magazine from June 2012 to March 2016. The story follows Satoru Fujinuma, who possesses an ability called "Revival" that sends his consciousness back in time moments before a life-threatening incident, allowing him to prevent it. When his mother is murdered, Satoru's ability sends him back eighteen years, to his elementary school days, providing him an opportunity to prevent a series of kidnappings that led to the deaths of three of his classmates. The series explores themes of time travel, cause and effect, and personal responsibility. It is praised for its engaging plot, deep character development, and suspense. The manga has been adapted into an anime series, a live-action film, and a live-action drama series. The anime adaptation by A-1 Pictures aired from January to March 2016; the live-action film was released in March 2016; and the Netflix live-action drama series was released in December 2017. These adaptations have all faithfully recreated the atmosphere and story of the original work, further expanding the reach of the franchise.
