Dagashi Kashi (だがしかし) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kotoyama. It was serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shōnen Sunday magazine from June 2014 to April 2018 and has been collected in 11 tankōbon volumes. The series follows Kokonotsu Shikada, the son of a rural dagashi (cheap candy and snack) shop owner, who dreams of becoming a manga artist. He is constantly pestered by his father, who wants him to inherit the family business, and Hotaru Shidare, a dagashi enthusiast. The series also includes a light novel adaptation titled Dagashi Kashi: Mō Hitotsu no Natsu Yasumi, written and illustrated by Manta Aisora, and two seasons of anime television series adaptations produced by Feel and Tezuka Productions, which aired in 2016 and 2018, respectively. The anime is licensed by Crunchyroll in English-speaking regions. Dagashi Kashi was ranked #5 on the "Nationwide Bookstore Employees' Recommended Comics" and nominated for the 41st Kodansha Manga Awards in the "best shōnen manga" category.
